This picture is funny for multiple reasons. The terrified expression on the little girls face says it all. "Holy shit, there is a bird on my head." Now why is this funny? The fact that this picture is in grayscale makes you question the time period it was taken and can give the sense of a silent film. The lack of color definitely helps the humor on this. Now as I stare deeply into this picture I think to myself the context of this situation. Was it staged? Or perhaps some pictures gone horribly wrong? Maybe a bird got loose and perched itself on this girls head and the photographer decided, "Oh fuck, this is going to be funny." Either way, this is one of my favorite pictures and cracks me up every time.
